SQE Equivalent Experience
Share
Work experience can be considered equivalent to a UK degree or equivalent qualification if it meets the required standard of education and professional learning. Each application is assessed on a case-by-case basis to ensure that it satisfies the SRA requirements for admission as a solicitor.
To qualify, your work experience must demonstrate a sufficient standard of general education and learning. This is equivalent to level 3 of the Regulated Qualifications Framework, which typically aligns with A-levels or their equivalent. In addition to this educational foundation, you must also have considerable work-based learning. This involves substantial professional experience in a relevant field, showcasing the development of skills, knowledge, and competencies that align with the expectations of a degree-level qualification.
This pathway provides flexibility for individuals who may not have traditional academic qualifications but have acquired comparable expertise through practical experience. It recognises the value of learning through real-world application and ensures that you possess the necessary knowledge and skills to meet the standards of a qualified solicitor.
