Questions

Duration
SQE1 lasts a total of 10hrs 12mins, with each session lasting 2hrs 33mins. Thus, you have only 1min 42secs for each question. On each assessment day, there will be 60-minute break after the first session.
Pass Mark
The number of questions that must be answered correctly to pass the SQE1 varies each year. Previous statistics show that you need to answer between 99 and 103 questions correctly out of 180 questions (55% – 57%) in order to pass FLK1 or FLK2. Your marks will be expressed as a scaled score out of 500, with the pass mark always set at 300.
Pass Rate
The overall pass rate consistently ranges from 51% to 53% on average. However, the latest pass rate was only 44%, the lowest since the data has been available. The pass rate of FLK1 ranges from 59% to 67%. The pass rate of FLK2 ranges from 54% to 56%.
Resit
If you fail either of the two components, you can retake the component you failed. You will only be allowed 3 attempts within 6 years from your first attempt. You cannot resit the component you passed just because you want to achieve a higher score.
